The European Union (EU) is pleased to support the work on the ongoing reform of the education sector in Montenegro, one of the most important reforms for the country, announced Liselote Isakson, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Department of the EU Delegation in Montenegro, adding that she welcomes the extensive consultations that have been carried out and finalization of work.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) announced that the second meeting of the Advisory Board of the "Quality Education for All Children of Montenegro" project was held in that ministry, which is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, UNICEF and the EU .
"The key goal of this project is the development of a comprehensive Strategy for the reform of education (2025-2035), which will define the vision of education, the main goals and the activities that need to be implemented in order to achieve them. The strategy will cover all levels of education and define the financial framework for its sustainable and long-term realization," reads the MPNI announcement.
The Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, said that for the first time we have a strategy that refers to a ten-year period, which is of inestimable importance for our education system.
"Only through the implementation of such a strategic document can we ensure that children and young people learn and grow up in a stimulating environment and get the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills they need for further learning," said Jakšić-Stojanović.
The press release states that the importance of the consultative process, which was carried out with children and adolescents, parents and teachers during the development of the Strategy, was particularly highlighted at the meeting.
"It is important for us to consult with you and get feedback that will ensure that this process is as participatory and inclusive as it has been until now. That is why the membership of this Advisory Board is not only made up of system institutions, but also representatives of teachers, parents and students. I believe that with your dedication, knowledge and experience, and with the support of UNICEF and the Delegation of the European Union, we will be able to provide our children with the education they deserve," said Sabina Žunić, deputy head of the UNICEF representative office in Montenegro.
