The bridge in Strojtanica near Bijelo Polje is prohibited for trucks with a load capacity of more than three and a half tons, and there is currently no danger of its collapse.
This is stated in the answer to "News" from the Municipality, after the non-governmental sector warned of the danger of its collapse.
The NGO "Euromost" asked the Ministry of Transport and the Municipality to close the bridge for traffic, due to the risk of collapse.
The municipality formed a commission this summer, which determined that the bridge is safe to walk on and that monitoring of the condition is necessary.
"According to the commission's assessment, there is no visible damage to the bridge, but geodetic monitoring has certainly been ordered every three to six months," said the secretary of the local Secretariat for Construction. Mensur Hajdarpašić.
On the approaches to the bridge, however, the "Vijesti" team did not notice signs prohibiting the passage of goods vehicles even yesterday.
The Municipality clarified that the signs were not placed, but that they gave an order to the company "Komunalno-Lim" to place them, that there were signs before, but that someone illegally removed them, and that the bridge was not even designed for the passage of vehicles above 3,5 .XNUMX tons.
The citizens of Strojtanica and Njegnjev said that it was once a strategic bridge for the municipality, that in the meantime modern bridges with two carriageways were built in Rasovo and Gubavč, and that the old bridge in Strojtanica was demolished and a new one was built, but with only one lane. narrower even than the original plan.
From the local community of Njegnjevo, they reminded that when it was built in 2010, it was the only concrete bridge in the municipality, with the exception of the city bridge towards Nikoljec.
"The bridge is extremely important for the surrounding settlements of Njegnjevo, Donje Rasovo and Strojtanica, and represents a link with Potrajci and the main road, which is also an expert opinion," said the president of the MZ Njegnjevo. Zoran Velickovic.
He pointed out that the bridge was not built according to the existing technical documentation.
"Due to low-quality work, the bridge is in a very critical condition today, and the approaches to the bridge are not well done either. Municipal authorities are insufficiently dealing with this problem, which could result in its collapse and the suffering of people," Veličković said, adding that the citizens will demand the correction of decades of injustice and the construction of a bridge with two lanes, because that area has undeservedly become and remains a dead end. municipalities.
They are asking the Municipality and the relevant Ministry to urgently undertake the necessary actions and assess the condition of the bridge, as well as eliminate the risk of collapse.
The NGO "Euromost" announced that they monitor the water level of the Lim River and the risk areas that may be flooded until February, when floods are frequent, on a daily basis, warning that one of them is precisely the place where the mentioned bridge is located.
They warn that the bridge can collapse at any moment, recalling that the pillars of the bridge were once destroyed in floods during its construction due to, as they state, the negligence of the contractor and investor - the Municipality of Bijelo Polje. They remind that no one was held criminally responsible for the resulting damage.
Hajdarpašić, however, said that it is not true that those pillars were demolished, but that the flood "carried" them from the shore, before they were installed.
From "Euromost", they ask how it is possible to build only one pillar on which the bridge is held, and that on the right side, and whether those responsible in the Municipality know that hundreds of vehicles cross that bridge every day.
The Ministry of Transport, after the letter from "Euromost", asked the Municipality of Bijelo Polje that the competent service and municipal authorities "react in the shortest possible time and take the necessary measures and actions with the aim of protecting people and property as quickly as possible priority".
Also, the Ministry states that they will coordinate with the competent institutions as soon as possible in order to quickly stop traffic for all categories of vehicles, because, as they point out, the preservation of human lives is their concern. They assessed that the urgent rehabilitation of the infrastructure of this type of construction must be one of the priorities of the authorities.
