DPS: Municipality and TO Nikšić to agree on who is telling the lies that the RTS team was not financed with citizens' money

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) called on the Municipality of Nikšić and the local Tourist Organization of Nikšić to "agree on who is lying" that the team of Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) was not financed with citizens' money.

The series was filmed in Nikšić, which will be presented as Knin, during the nineties of the last century, during the military operation "Storm" in Croatia, Radio Free Europe announced yesterday.

"How much the local self-government in Nikšić can become entangled in its own lies is also explained by the scandal regarding the payment of accommodation expenses to the crew of the Radio Television of Serbia during the filming of the series about Knin with citizens' money. When asked how much citizens' money was spent for the purposes of filming the series 'Fortress', including the costs of accommodation and food, which our councilor sent on September 18.09.2024, XNUMX, in accordance with the Law on Free Access to Information, the Finance Secretary of the Municipality of Nikšić, Zoran Šoškić replied that no payment was made in connection with the recording of the series in question," DPS announced.

They remind that the director of TO Nikšić, Mitar Barać, claims that they did not finance the team of the series with citizens' money.

"In order not to know who is lying more, the representatives of the Municipality of Nikšić or the director of the Tourist Organization, also speak in support of the Agreement on the procurement of hotel accommodation services for filming the series 'Fortress', which was concluded between TO Nikšić, represented by Mitar Barać, and the company that offers accommodation services on the basis of overnight stays with breakfast and dinner and on the basis of full board, the price of which including VAT is 200.000 euros," adds DPS.

They say that the rulers have obviously played "in their scheming and scheming, which they want to foist on the citizens, so that their bribery will pass under the radar", and that they have forgotten that there is a Montenegrin electronic public procurement system - CEJN, where "all tenders are available documentation related to the procurement of accommodation services for the RTS team, as well as the previously mentioned contract".

"Apart from the fact that they treat citizens' money in this way, which they squander for the purposes of their retrograde policies, it remains unclear how the series in which Nikšić is presented as war-torn Knin will contribute to the promotion of our city as a tourist destination. What they should know - if there is falsification and falsification of history in the series, to which the representatives of backward policies are prone, they will receive an adequate response to this, as well as to this and this unconscionable disposal of citizens' money, they will receive an adequate response in the form of criminal charges," said the DPS.

They called on the prosecutor's office to "wake up from its winter sleep and for once start acting in accordance with its competences" when it comes to "this and similar actions of the local authorities" in Nikšić, and to investigate "whether these 200.000 euros ended up with by financing the projects of another state, or spendthrifts spent more money for the same purpose".
