The session of the Ulcinj Municipal Assembly (SO), where the only item on the agenda will be the "level of provision of health services in the 'Blažo Orlandić' General Hospital" in Bar, will be held tomorrow, the president's office announced Ivan Popović.
The reason for holding the session is the death of a woman in labor from Ulcinj Drite Tafe, who died in the Clinical Center of Montenegro on November 2, under still unclear circumstances, almost 40 days after she gave birth in the hospital in Bar and gave birth to a healthy female child.
Her family suspects that the mother of three girls died due to the mistakes of doctors in Bar, and the High State Prosecutor's Office opened the case ex officio.
In the meantime, the exhumation of the deceased woman in labor was carried out and the results of the autopsy, which are also being worked on by foreign medical experts, are awaited.
Popović told "Vijesta" that the proposal is to send an invitation to attend the SO session to the representatives of the Ulcinj Health Center, the hospital in Bar, the NGO SOS, which is one of the organizers of the previously held protest, and the Ministry of Health.
"As for the findings of the autopsy, we do not have it at the moment because we are waiting for the report of foreign specialists," she said.
On the occasion of the tragic fate of the exemplary kindergarten teacher "Solidarnost" in Ulcinj, on November 7, a protest rally "Truth for Drita" was held in front of the Health Center, from which, among other things, the Ulcinj School of Education was requested to hold an emergency session and take a stand on the matter.
Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun he said then that the doctor Vesna Djokvučić, who gave birth to Drita, "no longer works, nor will she work in the Bar hospital".
The case of Tafa is not isolated - i Asmira Aljošević who gave birth in the hospital in Bar on September 10, was treated in KCCG for almost three months after that. Baranka was discharged for home treatment only at the beginning of this month.
The responsibility of the authorities was also demanded three years ago when a woman in labor from Bar died Ayla Hot. Her husband Hot Teachings claims that the same doctors were at the delivery, as in the case of the deceased woman from Ulcinj.
No one was held accountable for the death of Baranka, just like in the case of the woman in labor from Ulcinj Naide Alović, who died a few hours after giving birth on the operating table at KCCG, on the night between May 1 and 2, 2018. In early November 2020, two and a half years after the investigation, it was determined that there was no evidence that anyone was responsible for her death .
