The locals of Grblje, gathered around the NGO "Jaz - Mrčevo polje", once again called on the Municipality of Budva and the competent Municipal Inspection to remove the go-kart track in the hinterland of Jaz beach, which was placed on their ancestral land in defiance of the law and regulations.
"Who for years, with the help of municipal institutions, protects karting on Jaz, even though the inspection services ordered its removal", they asked in an open letter delivered to "Vijesti".
They warned that if the karting track and the temporary catering facility are not removed, the problem will escalate.
"As citizens have been informed several times before, Karting has been operating illegally on Jaz for years. On the initiative of the NGO "Jaz - Mrčevo polje", an inspection was launched, and the Municipal Inspection and the police of the municipality of Budva issued a decision on removal in June of this year. In addition to everything, the inspection services were informed about the construction of an open-air gym, next to the Karting center, and the inspection services turned a blind eye to the report of illegal construction", says the NGO that gathers the people of Grbljana, the owners of the land in the hinterland of the Jaz beach, on whose ancestral land they are built next to karting and sports fields.
They stated that "there is an open question as to why the municipal services do not carry out their decisions and do not undertake everything within their competence to remove the temporary facility in question".
"Are they protecting certain karting owners on Jaz and the persons interested in them, or are there other, unknown to us, reasons for not acting? We suspect that it is the incompetence of municipal services or external influence and pressure on them. There is information that there may be an escalation of the problem if karting on the Jaz is not removed," the NGO warned in a letter.
They submitted the decision of the Budva Municipal Inspection and Police from June 14 this year, which orders the sports organization "Karting Club F1 CG" to remove the temporary facility within ten days.
"In case of non-execution of this decision, administrative enforcement will be carried out at the expense of the subject of supervision. The appeal does not postpone the execution", the decision of the communal inspection reads.
However, to date the karting has not been removed.
The NGO reminded that the Temporary Locations Program expired at the end of 2023, and that the new one was adopted, while the old program did not provide for a karting track as a temporary location on the land in the hinterland of Jaz beach.
Plan of temporary facilities for the period 2024-2028. is under construction, although the Municipality of Budva was supposed to adopt it at the end of last year, when the earlier five-year plan expired.
"Non-governmental organizations will not give consent for the entry of karting as a temporary location on Jaz in the Program of temporary locations that is being developed. That is why we call on the Municipal Police and the Inspectorate to act on the decision and remove the karting tracks and the temporary catering facility, as well as all the accompanying equipment," the NGO points out.
At the beginning of April, the non-governmental organizations "Jaz Mrčevo polje" and "Jaz plaža", which gather around 600 land owners in the hinterland of Jaz, sent an urgent letter to the Budva Municipal Police and Inspection, demanding that an urgent inspection be carried out and the illegal karting track with a catering facility be removed in the hinterland of the beach.
They warned then that the temporary facility "Karting center F1 Budva" was set up contrary to the legal provisions, adopted regulations and decisions of the Municipality of Budva.
In the summer of 2023, those non-governmental organizations said that they were dissatisfied with the actions, or failure to act, of the competent state and municipal inspections on the requests for inspections on land on the Jaz.
