After four years of waiting, the construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard is entering its final phase, said the mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac.
"As the city administration, we showed seriousness in solving all the problems encountered, and the new contractor is responsible for the entrusted work. I thank the citizens for their patience and express my satisfaction that with the paving of this boulevard we solved the fourth problem left to us by the previous administration," she said. Injac during a tour of asphalt works with associates and representatives of contractors.
As stated in the announcement of the Public Relations Service of the Capital City, the construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard, for which four million euros have been allocated from the state capital budget, began in 2020 and, after several delays in implementation, was continued in October.
"Due to the delay in fulfilling the obligations of the previous contractor, the city administration terminated the contract at the beginning of this year and initiated complex procedures for the selection of a new, credible contractor who will complete the construction as soon as possible. In addition to the construction of Veljko Vlahović Boulevard, the city administration completed the construction in the shortest possible time the construction of Vili Brant boulevard and through Gornja Gorica, and the roundabout towards Tuzi," the announcement concludes.
