The Government of Montenegro accepted the proposal of the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property to grant consent for the establishment of easement rights in favor of the Municipality of Tivat over a part of a plot on the coast of Krtol, for the purpose of laying part of the future pipeline for the water supply of the island and the shrine of Our Lady through that state land. of grace in the Gulf of Tivat.
The area in question is only 13 square meters, but without it it was not possible to complete the planned route of the new pipeline that will connect the secondary water network in Krtoli with the island.
With this, after the Diocese of Kotor had previously given a similar consent for one of its plots of land in Krtoli, the last formal and legal obstacle to the start of work on the construction of that water supply was removed. The municipality of Tivat has already chosen a contractor for works worth around 100.000 euros, which it will finance from its budget. The works will be carried out according to the main project done by AG Infoplan from Nikšić. The route of the new pipeline is 142 meters long on land and 658 meters in the sea between the settlement of Obala Bogišić and the island of Our Lady of Mercy itself.
On September 21 last year, the Municipal Assembly adopted the Decision on the construction of a local object of general interest - infrastructure for water supply to the island of Gospa od otok within the scope of the State study of the location of Sveti Marko Island, by submarine route from the existing secondary network of cat.parc. no. 57 KO Milovići, in the scope of the State study of the location "Part of Sector 27 and Sector 28". According to that decision, the submarine water supply system, which will consist of two pipelines with a length of just over 600 meters, will be carried out from the coast of Bogišić in the south, to the small island of Our Lady of Mercy in the north.
It is one of the most picturesque and valuable parts of the cultural and historical heritage of Tivat, which has an extraordinary potential for religious and excursion tourism, but which until now could not be fully utilized due to the lack of adequate water supply on the island. The pipeline will be laid on the bottom of the bay and fixed with a protective lining and weights, and its total length, including the main and return pipelines, as well as parts on land, will be 1.478 meters. As announced by the Municipality, the works will begin in mid-January and will be completed by the end of March next year.
