The Velje brdo project will make Podgorica a European metropolis, announced the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić.
His cabinet announced that Spajić congratulated the citizens and the leadership of the Capital City on December 19, Capital City Day, and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Podgorica in World War II.
"Recalling the cultural and historical heritage that testifies to the deep foundations, the wealth of diversity and the stormy past of the Capital City, the Prime Minister emphasized that the libertarian resistance of its inhabitants in the Second World War deserves lasting memory and obligates us to preserve the civilizational achievements with which we stand proudly, side by side with the most progressive civil forces in Europe and the world," the announcement states.
He emphasized that we have a goal in front of us, towards the realization of which we have moved rapidly.
"The European path will bring a lot of challenges in the next three years, which we must successfully solve, in order to be better and more constructive - reliable partners to our international friends, who follow our progress with goodwill and favor," said Spajić.
The announcement adds that "on that line, and with a reminder of the special duty and mission of the Capital City in the integration drive, the Prime Minister expressed his belief that the current political position, which, as he states, arose as a result of the overthrow of the government by certain agents of the previous of the city's majority, a transit station from which Podgorica embarks on an even stronger overall infrastructural, economic and cultural revival".
"In that context, as he assessed, the representative project Velje brdo is just one in a series of capital investments that will truly make the capital a European metropolis," the announcement reads.
"In order for all projects of vital importance for the quality of life of the inhabitants of Podgorica to be effectively brought to an end, it is important to establish a functional and constructive government as soon as possible, which will put the development of the city and the interests of the citizens far ahead of individual interests and party agendas," Prime Minister Spajić concluded in congratulations on December 19 - Podgorica Liberation Day.
