Today, young colleagues will not go to specialization with a feeling of uncertainty like everyone before, Milena Popović Samardžić, president of the Union of Doctors of Medicine of Montenegro (SDMCG), announced today.
She spoke on the occasion of the fact that the allowance for separate life for healthcare workers sent for professional training outside Montenegro was increased from 330 to 660 euros.
"Exactly half a year ago, we started discussions about increasing the allowance for the separate life of young doctors who attend their specialization/subspecialization abroad, most often in one of the countries of the region. The previous allowance amounted to 333 euros and has not changed for a decade. We had colleagues who, due to objective circumstances, they could not afford to be separated from their families, but they would all go to Belgrade together, pay for the apartment, kindergarten, utilities from the resident's salary and compensation that did not even cover the rent spouses took unpaid leave to take care of their children while the other attends classes. We have permanently separated families who could not withstand the challenges of such a life. It was necessary to finance part of the family's life in Montenegro and their own in Belgrade," said Popović in a statement .
She added that the series of talks that were conducted with representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance resulted in the voted increase of the fee for the separated life of residents.
"However, today I don't want to talk about the contribution of politicians, ministries and the Government, although of course none of this would have been possible if there was no support from these addresses. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those people who presented the whole process together with us, the people who were unobtrusive and invisible. Unfortunately, no one will thank them except us, who know how much they helped our proposal to be realized," said Popović Samardžić.
She said that on this occasion, on behalf of the Union of Doctors of Medicine of Montenegro, she sends "gratitude to the Director General of the Directorate for the Local Self-Government Financing System and Wage Policy in the Ministry of Finance, Snežana Mugoša and Jovana Nišavić, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and all their colleagues for whom achieved good is the only satisfaction with which they end the working day".
"No self-promotion, no collecting political points for editing," concluded Popović Samardžić.
