The University of Montenegro (UCG) had a year that flowed under the aura of wonderful dignity, said UCG Rector Vladimir Božović at the UCG Senate's Solemn Session in the Rectorate building.
Božović reminded that this institution marks half a century of its existence.
He said that the University of Montenegro is an institution that built a society without whose knowledge the system would not be able to breathe.
"We have acquired immunity to toxic influences that come from outside the University," said Božović.
He also said that UCG must be a lighthouse and beacon of the future in challenging times.
Božović pointed out that UCG has students in the most prestigious addresses in the world, and that they are the best ambassadors of a country.
"We are the University that entered the European Union before the country itself," said Božović.
As part of the ceremony, awards were presented for outstanding contribution to the development of scientific research, artistic and professional work at the organizational units of the UCG, which recognized those who contributed to the overall reputation of that institution with their engagement.

Some of the award winners are Nataša Ružić, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ivan Radević, assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics, Dubravka Drakić, professor at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Bojan Mašanović, professor at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, Dušan Vujačić, assistant professor at the Faculty of Tourism, professor at the Faculty of Philology Olivera Popović, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy Dragana Burić, assistant professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering Ivana Ćipranić, professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Ivan Vušanović, professor at the Faculty of Medicine Elvir Zvrko, Aleksandar Joksimović from the Institute of Marine Biology and many others.
The solemn part of the program was marked by the choir of the Academy of Music, as well as Predrag Janković, who played Antonio Vivaldi's piece, "The Four Seasons – Winter" (I movement Allegro non molto) on the accordion.
Faculty of Dramatic Arts student Mina Mićović presented a philosophical discourse on the topic of Hegel, offering a philosophical view on current topics of importance to the academic community.
