The report of the Institute for Education showed the lack of trust of the students of the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium in Podgorica towards the management of that educational institution.
As stated in report, it was concluded that it is about the "characteristics of a dominantly traditional school", in which the quality of mutual relations is limited and the confidence of the students in the school administration and professional assistants has not been developed.
"With the stated statement from the survey that I have the freedom to turn to the director if I have a problem, the students' opinions are as follows: only 18% fully agree, and 22% of students partially agree. The majority of students do not agree with the statement statement or does not know the answer to this question (51% do not agree, and 9% do not know the answer).Students' attitudes and opinions are similar when it comes to professional associates, where only 23% of students completely agree. agree with the statement I have the freedom to turn to professional assistants because I get useful advice, help and support, 3296 students partially agree, while 356 students do not agree with this statement or do not know the answer (10%)", it is written in report.
It is added that only 15% of students fully agree with their behavior and work, the director and assistants set a good example for students, 25% of surveyed students partially agree, while half of students (50%) do not agree with this statement or does not know the answer (10%).
"These data indicate the degree of democratization of the school, as well as how much student participation is really appreciated and respected in practice. The parents share a similar attitude, and they state that the school director/management sets a good example for the students with his behavior and work, fully 29% of surveyed parents agreed, partially 28%, while 33% of parents disagreed with this statement and 10% did not express their opinion," the report states.
The Institute said that the above results, whether they are based on the experience of parents with the School administration, or as mediated information through the children, or in another way, show the degree of trust in the school and the quality of mutual relations between the child and the School administration. .
"Earlier, we pointed out that from the perspective of parents, the most important thing is the attitude of the school administration and teachers towards their children. Judging by these data, it can be concluded that the school administration has not sufficiently developed communication and a climate based on the necessary trust, respect and acceptance in relations with students/ cama", say the Institute.
"Parents express divided opinions on the survey claim I have good cooperation and communication with the school director. 29% of parents fully agree with the above statement, 19% partially, while 31% of the surveyed parents disagree and 21% of the surveyed parents did not express their opinion. Data most obviously show that the quality of the partnership between the School and parents is mostly traditional and that it is necessary to develop more open mechanisms of cooperation with all parents of students," the report says.
The Institute points out that based on these data, it is not possible to speak of a partnership between the School and parents, "because partnership relations imply completely open, two-way communication and mutual support in achieving the common goal of both parents and the School - the well-being and optimal development of the child".
"However, the director of the school states in the interview that communication has been established with all departments/representatives of the department, as evidenced by the detailed and orderly records of the conversations conducted on the basis of which appropriate measures/activities are planned and implemented. In addition to the above, the director of the school points out the possibility of communicating with students via e-mail, where students can, if necessary, contact the School, make proposals, suggestions, send criticism, etc. (each student has open e-mail address). However, according to her, the students did not use this possibility until the day of supervision. Communication is also established through the work of the Student Parliament", they added.
"With the statement offered from the survey that teachers set a good example for students with their behavior and work, 19% or partially (51%) of the students fully agree, while 24% disagree or 6% of the surveyed students did not express their opinion/ The attitudes and opinions of the students are the same in response to the statement that the teachers treat the students with respect with their behavior and work, teachers set a good example for students (23% fully agree, 4896 partially agree, 279% disagree and 29% don't know the answer), the report states, among other things.
