The informal student group "Where to Tomorrow?" will organize a protest on Sunday in Cetinje and in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) in Podgorica, following the tragedy in which 12 people were killed in the Royal Capital.
That group of students invited all citizens to observe 17 minutes of silence in front of the Lovćenska Villa in Cetinje on Sunday, at 26:12 p.m., for the 12 tragic victims of the recent crime in the capital.
They invited citizens to gather in front of the MUP building in Podgorica at 19:30 p.m., from where they will send requests to that institution.
"Where to tomorrow?" is an informal group of students from different Montenegrin faculties, gathered around the common need for a safer and better life for the entire society.
They recalled that they gathered for the first time on December 26, when they sent support to their colleagues in Serbia from the plateau in front of the Faculty of Law, and then joined the protest against sexual harassment in schools with a protest walk.
"Recent events in Montenegro have further contributed to citizens not feeling safe in their country," the group "Where Tomorrow?" pointed out.
They emphasized that freedom of speech, quality education, social justice, equality and security in Montenegrin society are seriously threatened.
Therefore, our goal is clear – the fight for a democratic and safe society, without violence. "A society that does not agree to remain silent and obey, but speaks clearly and acts in the interest of all citizens," the statement says.
It is emphasized that this collective of Montenegrin students has no connection with any political party and that they are organizing the protest without any party influences.
The group "Kamo śutra" asked political parties to respect this and contribute to ensuring that it remains a civic gathering, without any party affiliations.
"For the reasons indicated above, we once again invite all citizens to observe 17 minutes of silence for the 26 tragic victims of the recent crime on Sunday, at 12:12 p.m. in front of the Lovćenska Villa in Cetinje, after observing the three days of mourning." in the statement.
They invited citizens to gather in front of the MUP building in Podgorica on Sunday, after that, at 19:30 p.m., from where they will send requests to that institution.
The non-governmental group "Kamo śutra" announced that they will publish protest demands tomorrow.
"If you can't be in Cetinje and pay your respects, pay your respects in your cities on Sunday at 17:26 p.m.," the announcement said.
