The informal student group "Where Are You Going Tomorrow?" said that their members had been publicly harassed and belittled in recent days, while the girls who spoke at their protest had received threatening and obscene messages. They accused politicians of endangering their lives and safety.

"But we will not be intimidated, because we are united and pure in this, which the vast majority of citizens already recognize. Our weapons are love and empathy! That is why we continue our fight, as one of our best critics said: 'Only smart, empathetic, open, patient and brave!'" the group said in a statement sent to the media.

At the protest, which will be held on Thursday, January 16th in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs building, starting at 19.30:XNUMX PM, we will once again demand the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense, announced "Kamo Śutra?".

They added that they would also demand the demilitarization of society, the confiscation and destruction of illegal and hidden weapons, as well as the revision of all weapons possession licenses.

"We will supplement the request related to better functioning of police structures, we will also seek improved mental health care, but also new policies related to the excessive centralization of our state. Of course, the exact demands will be announced soon," the group announced.

They expressed gratitude for the great support and trust that citizens have shown them so far.

"The informal group of students 'Where Tomorrow?' gathered for the first time to show support for student blockades in Serbia, and then to support the protest against sexual harassment. After a protest walk from the Faculty of Law to the Parliament of Montenegro, we joined this protest held in Podgorica on December 26, 2024. Our intention was clear - a rebellion against every form of violence.

"Unfortunately, not long after the group was formed, a crime occurred in Cetinje. Our reaction to gather again was instinctive, the goal, once again - a rebellion against all forms of violence, this time additionally fueled by immense anger and sadness. Our country once again did nothing to prevent the suffering of innocents. We felt guilty that as a society we did not react earlier to prevent such a crime to the extent that it was possible," the statement reads.

The increase in violence, material and cultural poverty, and deteriorating mental health is currently affecting the entire country, but is most evident in cities that have been underinvested in for decades, the group said.

"Therefore, we cannot claim that it is a coincidence that a mass murder is taking place in Cetinje for the second time in a period of three years. The reasons, however, are not mentality, demons or groundwater, but decades of political reality in which politicians of all parties mislead us every day with questions of nationality and religious affiliation. During this time, new cafes and casinos have only been opening in Cetinje, Bijelo Polje, Andrijevica, Plav, Berane - factories for unfortunate people that have, unfortunately, brought misery to hundreds of Montenegrin homes so far," said "Where to Tomorrow?".

Instead of finding ways to revitalize cities, provide new jobs, new schools, kindergartens, and invest in health centers, our politicians are fighting over whether to have more members of this or that nationality at the head of ministries, this group points out.

"What matters to them is what font the police will be written in on official vehicles, and how many party soldiers they will employ. We get the impression that those who create such a political reality do not understand our demands, or are afraid of them."

"This crime is the result of a collapsed system, the reckless and irresponsible actions of the authorities, which, after the crime that occurred in 2022 in Medovina, did not offer a long-term solution to the mental health problems of Montenegrin society. It is easy for our authorities to declare this crime an accident, the work of a monster or a medical phenomenon, but we are aware that monsters are not born, they are created by a system that demonizes, harasses, rejects, inadequately deals with or does not deal with people with mental health problems. By calling the criminal a monster, we are removing responsibility from the system that in no way encourages care for the mental health of every individual," they state.

"Incitement politics, failure to take responsibility, corruption, crime and nationalism are diseases from which our society has suffered for decades. We are aware that due to the untruths that the Democratic Montenegro party has put forward, there is a certain group of citizens who doubt our intentions. The traumas that the thirty-year rule of the Democratic Party of Socialists has left are deep and understandable. We still carry them ourselves. In the eyes of us students of this group, every political party is measured by the same yardstick. In order to heal the traumas and achieve true reforms, we must call to account all those who shape our future with their political actions," the statement concludes.
