The government will stand by Cetinje with all available capacities and all departments will be maximally involved in order to create systemic preconditions to provide support to the capital and all citizens of Cetinje.
This was announced at a meeting organized by the Royal Capital, in which Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Ministers Vojislav Šimun and Damir Gutić participated on behalf of the Government, and health and social workers were present.
The Prime Minister's Office announced that Spajić, "in memory of those who died during the great tragedy that occurred on January 1st," lit a candle in front of the Lovćenska Vila monument during his visit to Cetinje.
On January 1, Cetinje resident Aco Martinović shot and killed 13 fellow citizens, then committed suicide.

During his visit to Cetinje, Spajić also met with Mayor Nikola Đurašković, and in the conversation it was concluded that it is necessary to work without delay on strengthening the capacities of the Cetinje Security Department, in order to improve the security situation in that city.
"During the conversation, the Prime Minister announced the urgent adoption of a series of legal solutions, in order to, among other things, strengthen the personnel base of the Police Directorate by recruiting new police officers - from the Police Academy and outside the security system," the statement reads.
The meeting positively assessed yesterday's Government decision creating the conditions for advertising new employment opportunities in the Police Directorate.
Đurašković emphasized that it is very important to establish video surveillance in Cetinje, which, as he pointed out, would make the work of security services easier, and he also thanked the Prime Minister for visiting the wounded at the Clinical Center on the day of the tragedy.

The Prime Minister, along with Ministers Šimun and Gutić, also participated in a meeting organized by the Royal Capital, which was attended by health and social workers.
"I personally guarantee that we will work intensively to identify all the shortcomings of the system, primarily in the segment of preventing such tragedies. By developing mechanisms and implementing best practices, we must restore a sense of security to the citizens of Cetinje," Spajić emphasized on that occasion.
Đurašković said that he expects all competent authorities to make maximum efforts to strengthen the safety of citizens in Cetinje and throughout Montenegro. "We are obliged to create synergy between all social factors, because only in this way can we systematically respond to the tragedy, which has struck us for the second time in a short period of time."
The Prime Minister's Office announced that one of its priorities is to create a program that will continuously provide psycho-sociological support to citizens.
As emphasized during the conversation, the first steps in that direction have already been taken, as several informal meetings have been held between representatives of the Government and the Royal Capital.
In this regard, Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun emphasized that the first steps have already been taken, with the participation of doctors and staff of the Clinical Center and health centers, and recalled that an SOS line for psychological support has been activated. He announced that the capacities of local mental health centers will be strengthened in the coming period, and that the implementation of best practices will be ensured through expert support from the United States and Norway.
Minister Gutić agreed that prevention is key to preventing such tragedies from recurring, and employees in the social welfare, family care and demography department "are already involved in providing direct assistance, as are representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and members of the Association of Psychologists, who volunteer to support students, parents, teachers and all citizens of Cetinje."
"The meeting concluded that the Government of Montenegro will stand by Cetinje with all available capacities and that all departments will be maximally involved in order to create systemic preconditions to provide support to the Royal Capital and all citizens of Cetinje," the statement reads.
The Royal Capital of Cetinje previously announced that Đurašković today presented Spajić with the conclusions adopted by the Royal Capital Assembly at its session on January 10th and insisted on their implementation.
The Assembly of the Royal Capital, among other things, is demanding the removal of the security sector leadership and an independent international investigation.
