At the regional and international level, no one is isolated from cyber threats, which is why establishing cooperation between the Government Security Operations Center (G-SOC) and the Czech Cybersecurity Agency, exchanging experiences, and organizing joint trainings is very important.

This was stated by Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj, during a visit by Czech President Petr Pavel to the Government Security Operations Center GSOC.

Dukaj recalled that the idea of creating this center arose two years ago, immediately after the major attack on the government's IT infrastructure, in August 2022.

"We have the honor and privilege to present GSOC to you, President Pavel, who, as a professional soldier, as Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic and as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, have had the opportunity to address cyber threats, but also to transfer knowledge about all forms of modern warfare, among which cyber is a special challenge," Dukaj emphasized, as reported by the PR Center.

He said that, "thanks to vision and action", as well as support from the EU and other partners, Montenegro can never again be unprotected as during the cyber attack in 2022. The adoption of the Law on Information Security, which is harmonized with the EU NIS2 Directive, is added, the basis for progress and capacity building.

"This is also a condition for the establishment of the Cyber Security Agency, and our current efforts are in that direction. I would also like to use this meeting to propose the establishment of cooperation between the CIRT of the Government of Montenegro and NUKIB (Czech Cyber Security Agency) in the area of information exchange. I also propose a visit by representatives of the GSOC of Montenegro to the Czech SOC, in order to learn about the functioning of this Czech institution and the possible application of good practice in our country," said Dukaj.

He also advocates, as he said, for organizing joint exercises and training between the Montenegrin GSOC and the Czech Cybersecurity Agency, as well as for the Czech Republic's support in obtaining accreditation for the TF - CSIRT.

Czech President Petr Pavel thanked for the reception and expressed satisfaction with the progress that Montenegro has achieved in this area in a short time.

"I am aware of the Montenegrin experience you have gained during large-scale cyberattacks and I want to exchange views on effective responses and share best practices. By coming to visit G-SOC, we are making it clear that we are ready for joint cooperation, especially in the field of cybersecurity and digitalization," Pavel said.

Further cooperation will be intensified and made more concrete, the interlocutors agreed.
