Kalezić resigns, Vuksanović becomes acting head of the "1. jun" Resource Center

The former director of the Resource Center "1. jun" Maja Kalezić recently resigned, and Aleksandar Vuksanović was elected as the acting (acting) head of the institution, until the end of the competition.

According to "Vijesti", Kalezić resigned after responding to the Education Inspectorate's proposal for her dismissal, which was submitted to her by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI).

Kalezić's dismissal has been requested since last summer by some parents whose children attend the "1. jun" Resource Center, the Association of Special Education Teachers, and the Educational Inspectorate, as well as the institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms, have noted that there were shortcomings in the work.

The Ministry of National Education and Research officially responded to "Vijesti" that Kalezić "addressed the competent department with a request to terminate the director's duties, at her personal request."

"The provisions of Article 82a, point two of the General Law on Education stipulate that the duty of the director shall be terminated at his/her personal request. Aleksandar Vuksanović, a graduate defectologist, VII 1 level of the National Qualifications Framework, has been appointed as the acting director of the institution for a period of up to six months starting from January 17 this year. Vuksanović is a defectologist - oligophrenologist, who has been working at the Resource Center '1998. jun' since 1. The Ministry received a proposal for dismissal, which it sent to the director for a statement. Kalezić, within the legally prescribed deadline, responded to the same," said the department, headed by Anđela Jakšić Stojanović.

Kalezić responded to earlier criticism from some parents, the Association of Special Education Teachers, and institutions that the work of RC "1. jun" has been blocked for almost a year by daily exhausting and targeted controls by the Education Inspectorate, "at the behest of some employees and non-governmental organizations in which the children's parents are involved."

Danijela Bokan, the former principal of the Cetinje elementary school (OS) “Lovćenski partisanski odred” (Lovćen Partisan Detachment), also recently resigned. According to information from “Vijesti”, she was also previously submitted a proposal for dismissal by the education inspectors for her to comment on. According to “Dana”, Bokan is also being investigated by the local Basic State Prosecutor's Office on suspicion that she had misappropriated state property.

At the beginning of the week, Jakšić Stojanović also dismissed the director of the Podgorica "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium, Biljana Vučurović, because she did not take all mandatory measures in the case of professor R. Č., after she was informed about his inappropriate messages and sexual harassment of a former student by her, as well as by the NGO Prima.

At the end of November 2024, the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN CG) published an article in which, among other things, they cited the case of teacher R. Č., who in 2021 sent inappropriate messages to his former student.
