Germany has donated two specialized DINGO armored medical vehicles to the Montenegrin Army, the handover of which took place at the "Milovan Šaranović" barracks in Danilovgrad, the Ministry of Defense (MO) announced.
As announced, these are multi-purpose armored vehicles, worth a total of 4.544.542 euros, manufactured by the company "Krauss-Maffei Vergmann" from Munich, and equipped with the most modern medical equipment.
"The vehicles provide a high level of safety for medical personnel, the injured and the sick. They can move on very complex terrain, through difficult-to-reach areas, in mountains, forests and similar inaccessible areas. They are used both for evacuation and for providing emergency medical assistance in various crisis situations and circumstances," the statement reads.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense Marko Marković thanked Germany for the donation and for the recognition shown for the needs of Montenegro and its defense system.
He emphasized that this donation represents a significant step forward in strengthening the operational capabilities of the Army of Montenegro.
"These vehicles significantly improve our military capabilities. The donation is confirmation and proof of the successful cooperation between Montenegro and Germany, but also of our shared values and alliance within the Alliance. It is a strong message that our friends and allies are with us and that we are ready to build a safer common future together," said Marković.

Marković, the Ministry of Defense announced, underlined that the two countries share a vision of a stable, safe and humane environment, and that this concrete assistance further strengthens Montenegro's ability to provide an adequate response in the most sensitive situations.
The German Ambassador to Montenegro, Peter Felten, said that German DINGO ambulances have proven their value in many conflict situations around the world, saving the lives of wounded soldiers and medical personnel, especially where conflicting parties violate international humanitarian law.
"I am convinced that the DINGO vehicles will provide effective protection and be of significant benefit to the Army of Montenegro," said Felten.
The ceremony in Danilovgrad was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Colonel Mitar Klikovac, as well as representatives of the German company "Krauss-Maffei Vergmann".
