Minister of Education, Science and Innovation Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Sports and Youth Dragoslav Šćekić, Minister of Regional Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations Ernad Suljević and State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation Dragana Babović visited today the "9.maj" Primary School in Sutivan, Bjelopje, which is in the final phase of reconstruction.
The reconstruction of the school is being carried out through a donation from the United States Department of Defense through the humanitarian assistance program, and with the support of the US Embassy in Montenegro, in a total value of around 400.000 euros.
The works include complete renovation of the building, including reconstruction of the roof, facade, replacement of carpentry, ceilings, doors, electrical installations, sanitary facilities, as well as the gym.
Also, at the end of last year, the Ministry of Sports and Youth provided funds for computer equipment for the IT and music culture departments.
"During the visit, the ministers expressed their gratitude to the US Embassy for its selfless support in improving the educational infrastructure in Montenegro, emphasizing the importance of investing in education as the foundation of social development. It was emphasized that the reconstructed school will provide better working conditions for students and teaching staff and improve the quality of teaching and extracurricular activities. This is another significant step in improving the quality of educational infrastructure in Montenegro and one of the numerous schools being reconstructed within this program," the Ministry of Education announced.
