The Party of European Progress (SEP) expresses its full support for the residents of the Kuće Rakića settlement, who have been living in unacceptable conditions for years, while authorities from the Capital City of Podgorica and the Municipality of Tuzi ignore their suffering, said SEP councilor in the Capital City Assembly Ilija Mugoša.
"This community, which the government treats as 'no man's land', faces problems every day due to the unfinished demarcation between these two municipalities. Without basic living conditions - water, electricity and maintained roads - the locals pay the price of negligence, while their bills arrive regularly. Instead of enjoying a peaceful life, the citizens of Kuća Rakića are left to fend for themselves, forced to finance road repairs and basic utility services from their own pockets. And while they repair potholes on the roads and try to provide normal electricity voltage so that their families can function, the authorities turn a blind eye and pretend that the problem does not exist," said Mugoša.
He pointed out that it is particularly worrying that the authorities are unable to answer a simple question - do the Rakić Houses belong to Podgorica or Tuzi?
"This issue is essential because it depends on who is obliged to take responsibility and finally solve the long-standing problems. The European Progress Party calls on the Capital City of Podgorica and the Municipality of Tuzi to complete the demarcation process without further delay and end the agony of the residents of Kuća Rakića. The citizens of this community deserve a dignified life - paved roads, stable electricity and drinking water."
Mugoša stated that the current situation is inhumane, that the living conditions in the Rakić Houses are not just a local problem, but are an example of the government's carelessness, inefficiency, and incompetence.
"I will urgently raise the issue of the status of the Rakić House in the Capital City Assembly so that the European Progress Party can contribute to resolving this problem as quickly as possible. I appeal to all councilors in the parliaments of the Capital City of Podgorica and the Municipality of Tuzi to leave aside ideology and party politics in relation to this problem of our citizens and to solve the problem of the citizens together. This is the basic duty of both councilors and politicians, not conducting high politics."
The SEP councilor called on the authorities to end the suffering of citizens and fulfill their obligations, emphasizing that the Rakić Houses must not remain forgotten.
