The "Children's House" project should be put back in focus, given its importance for providing support to families and children, it was emphasized at today's meeting of representatives of the Capital City with representatives of the Parents' Association.
Today's meeting is just the first step in the cooperation of this association with the new city administration, one of whose goals is to improve the living conditions of families and children in Podgorica, it was announced after Mayor Saša Mujović and President of the Capital City Assembly Jelena Borovinić Bojović met with Kristina Mihailović and Lepa Žugić from the Parents Association.
Representatives of the Parents Association, as reported by the Capital City, introduced the new city administration to the numerous services and amenities that this association provides to families, including the aforementioned "Children's House" project, which was previously started but never implemented.
The idea of launching a new family support service in Podgorica, which would include counseling and therapy, was also presented at the meeting. The capital said that it is planned that this service will be implemented by a team of professionals, and is intended for children and young people up to 18 years of age.
Mujović emphasized that one of the priorities of the Capital City will be to protect the safety of children in schools, but also to improve all services and programs related to children and their better and more humane living environment. He also emphasized that the Capital City will provide unreserved support within its capabilities in order to achieve concrete results in this field, according to a statement from the Capital City.
The "Children's House" project and new family support services require a multidisciplinary approach, which includes cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, and the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue, the Capital City said, emphasizing that it was agreed that the Parents Association would inform the city administration and relevant ministries in more detail about the project in the coming period in order to define the next steps towards its implementation.
The city administration said that its key goal is to achieve concrete and sustainable results that will improve the quality of life of families and children in Podgorica, the statement concluded.
