The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, Nikola Jovanović, told the workers of the Utility Company that the Municipality was not sitting idly by and that it had provided them with their salaries and that they could go to work.
"Our citizens are waiting for you to clean up the mess that was not made by you, but by those who behaved irresponsibly towards you, those who did not want to come and sign the salaries. The municipality understood your problems, solved the problem with salaries and I hope that this company will never be under the control of those who behave irresponsibly towards you and the workers. We will not allow another tourist season to be ruined and therefore I ask you to get to work as soon as possible," said Jovanović.
He finally asked, after some offered to help, if it was needed, and the workers replied that they could clean it themselves.
Workers will be paid their December salary, not their January salary.
Jovanović told Vijesti that January's salary will also be paid out in the coming days.
The January salary hasn't arrived yet because the month isn't over yet.
