Language is not just a means of communication, but an asset that carries the identity, history and culture of a people, said Minister of Human and Minority Rights Fatmir Đeka.
The presentation of the project "Digitization of the Albanian Language in Montenegro" was held in the premises of the Gusinje Municipal Assembly, organized by that department.
Along with Đeko, the presentation was attended by State Secretary Astrit Hoxha, Director of the Directorate for the Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Minority Peoples and Other Minority National Communities Arben Džureta, President of the Albanian National Council in Montenegro Faik Nika, as well as Advisor to the Directorate for Interculturalism Kristjan Dukaj.
Đeka pointed out that the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights supported the aforementioned project.
"In a world that is rapidly digitizing," believes Đeka, "it is very important to ensure" that the Albanian language also has this opportunity for all citizens who use it.
"Online platforms, language applications, digital educational resources and automatic translation tools are just some of the ways that will help preserve and strengthen the use of the Albanian language for future generations. With this digitalization, the Albanian national minority in Montenegro is given the opportunity to more easily address challenges in their education, prevent cultural assimilation, improve communication with other countries in the region in their own language, and reduce communication barriers," the presentation said, as announced by the Ministry.
