Special attention will be focused on increasing the efficiency of the courts, monitoring the flow of cases and strengthening the capacities of the Special Department of the High Court in Podgorica, announced the President of the Supreme Court, Valentina Pavličić, at a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Montenegro, Judy Rising Reinke.
Priorities and plans in the work of the Supreme Court of Montenegro and the situation in the judiciary in the area of the rule of law were the highlights of the meeting between the President of the Supreme Court, Valentina Pavličić, and the Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro, Judy Rising Reinke, said the Supreme Court.
Pavličić also said that changes to procedural legislation are key to the modernization of court proceedings, especially in cases of organized crime and corruption, but also in the process of rationalizing the judicial network.
"...Expressing the expectation that the legislative and executive branches will create conditions for the smooth functioning of the judiciary in Montenegro, especially in the area of financial independence. Ambassador Reinke informed the President of the Supreme Court about the priorities and goals of the new US administration to make America safer, stronger and more prosperous," the statement reads.
