More than fifty employees at the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society of the Capital City were happy when they saw that their January salaries were 150 euros higher, but a "cold shower" soon followed - they will have to return that money, because it was mistakenly paid into their accounts.
According to the Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society Sladjana Andjusic, the overdraft on the account occurred “due to a technical error.” He claims that they reacted after half an hour and quickly initiated the correction procedure.
"It is clear that everyone must return what they did not earn through work, which all employees have been informed about," said Anđušić.
As she said, along with the monthly salary calculation report, "all documentation supporting working hours" was also submitted.
"Decisions on annual leave, decisions on unpaid leave, decisions on paid leave, decisions on salary increases based on overtime work, based on work on Sundays, based on work during state and religious holidays, and reports on temporary incapacity for work of employees. There were no variables for January," said Anđušić.
He emphasizes that there has been no abuse of position in the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society, "nor can there be."
"... Because as far as I'm concerned, I'm solely guided by the law and I act accordingly. As always, I'm ready and open to determining responsibility, but I claim that, based on the documentation accompanying the calculation, it can be unequivocally determined that the budget of the Capital City and its employees have not and will not suffer any damage, so there is no room for insinuations," said Anđušić.
She stressed that she supports monitoring the spending of citizens' money and encouraged the relevant institutions to act.
"... And the public to finally investigate and determine responsibility when it comes to the judicially proven illegal payment of salaries in the Capital City, which has lasted and existed for decades. I remind the public that these are multi-million figures, for compensation and court costs, which are not final, because numerous proceedings are still ongoing," said Anđušić.
