The Mayor of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, Nikola Đurašković, and the German Ambassador to Montenegro, Peter Felten, lit candles and paid tribute to the citizens who died in the tragedy that occurred on January 1 in Cetinje, the Public Relations Office of the Royal Capital of Cetinje announced.
The statement states that Felten visited Cetinje today in connection with the tragic event that occurred on January 1, and that Đurašković met with him.
"During the meeting, Ambassador Felten expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and solidarity with the citizens of Cetinje in these difficult times. He also emphasized Germany's support in efforts to provide assistance to citizens," the statement from the Public Relations Office of the Royal Capital of Cetinje said.
The statement added that Đurašković thanked Felten for the visit and the expressed sympathy, emphasizing that the Royal Capital of Cetinje is dedicated to overcoming the consequences of this tragedy with the support of citizens and international partners.

"The support we receive from our friends and international partners, such as Germany, in these difficult times shows that we are not alone. We will work together to help everyone affected by this tragedy and to ensure that such events never happen again," the statement said.
It is added that the meeting also discussed possibilities for further improving cooperation between Cetinje and the German city of Nuremberg, with which the Royal Capital has signed a Partnership Protocol since 2012.
"It was stated that the Royal Capital of Cetinje appreciates Germany's continued support and remains open to initiatives that contribute to the development of the city. After the meeting, Mayor Đurašković and Ambassador Felten lit candles and paid tribute to the citizens who died in the tragedy that occurred on January 1," the statement reads.
