"The training brought together 30 pedagogues and psychologists from primary and secondary schools in the central part of Montenegro, who had the opportunity to strengthen their skills with psychologist Tamara Milić to recognize and adequately respond to peer violence, which is becoming a growing problem in our society," the statement says.

Additional education on peer violence in all segments of the formal education system is necessary to make the school environment safe and motivating for the development of youth, the training organized by the Center for Civic Education (CCE) said.

CCE announced that training on prevention and intervention in cases of peer violence was organized in Podgorica.

"The training brought together 30 pedagogues and psychologists from primary and secondary schools in the central part of Montenegro, who had the opportunity to strengthen their skills with psychologist Tamara Milić to recognize and adequately respond to peer violence, which is becoming a growing problem in our society," the statement said.

Nikola Latković, a teacher at the "Lovćen Partisan Detachment" Elementary School (OS) in Cetinje, said that these trainings are not only important for professional associates, but also for all teachers.

"I believe that such trainings are necessary given our previous experience and work with young people, because they provide an opportunity to learn something new and exchange experiences with colleagues from other educational institutions," said Latković.

Milica Pušonjić, a psychologist at the "Savo Pejanović" Elementary School in Podgorica, pointed out that the topic of violence, especially peer violence, is unfortunately a current one and that there is never enough learning and discussion about it.

She said that today's training was important because it brought together psychological and pedagogical services.

"This gave us the opportunity to exchange work experiences, the challenges we face, but also to hear the results of research, both in Montenegro and the surrounding area," said Pušonjić.

A teacher at the "Ivan Uskoković" Secondary Vocational School in Podgorica, Mirjana Vukčević, said that violence in Montenegrin society is escalating, which motivated her to register for today's training, in the hope of receiving new information on solving these problems.

"I am glad that it has been possible for educators and psychologists to exchange experiences and gain new knowledge, and I expect other forms of support. I am an advocate for the continuity of such gatherings so that we can exchange opinions and information useful in our everyday work," said Vukčević.

The training is part of the project "HEART: Supporting the Empowerment and Resilience of Youth Today", funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro and co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration.

CCE announced that similar trainings will be held in the north and south of Montenegro within the same project.
