President of Montenegro Jakov Milatovic informed the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) that he had borrowed 170.000 euros from a commercial bank.
In an extraordinary report on assets and income, the president also reported that his family had purchased a new property, which is registered to the first lady. Milena Milatović.
According to data from the Agency's website, Milatović yesterday submitted both an extraordinary report due to changes in assets exceeding 10.000 euros, as well as a regular annual report.
The president will repay the mortgage loan of 170.000 euros over the next 20 years in installments of 1.074 euros.
The latest property card, which refers to the change in property, states that the Milatovićs own four properties, but it does not state whether they are land or residential buildings, and the square footage is not specified. Two of the four properties are located in Podgorica, and according to the Agency, both were acquired by purchase. One was purchased in 2017 and is registered to Jakov, and the other in 2025 and is registered to Milena Milatović.
The president is the owner of two other properties in the Municipality of Danilovgrad, and he cites construction and a gift contract as the basis for acquiring them. The extraordinary card also states that Jakov Milatović has 9.930 euros in his current account.
The President announced in the regular report for 2024 that he received a salary of 1.990 euros from January to September, while in October, November and December he earned 2.125. The Agency's website does not contain any data on Milena Milatović's earnings, either in the regular or extraordinary report from February 6 this year.
The Milatovićs earned 6.600 euros from rent last year, or 550 euros per month. In December, the president sold a 2017 Renault Kadjar car. He reported that he earned exactly 10.000 euros from the sale.
In the report covering the entire year 2024, Milatović also declared four properties, two in Podgorica, two in Danilovgrad. One of the four was reported as joint property with his wife, and was reportedly acquired through a purchase in 2019.
According to earlier information provided by the head of state to the Agency, Jakov Milatović was the owner of a 46-square-meter apartment in Podgorica. Another apartment of 68 square meters, also in Podgorica, was reported as the joint property of the president and the first lady. Milatović previously reported in his regular report for 2023 that he was the owner of a 128-square-meter house, and that the basis for the acquisition was construction, as well as land (sixth-class meadow) of 9.469 square meters, which he received as a gift.
President Milatović is also the owner of 247 shares of “Montenegro Express Group AD Budva”.
