The second edition of the Festival of Young Artists - FMU 2025, organized by the Association of Young Artists of Montenegro, will be held from February 28 to March 1, 2025, at the Military Hangar in the Podgorica settlement of Zagorič, the organizers announced yesterday.

The statement added that artists from Montenegro, the region and Europe will perform, and that admission to all festival events is free.

"The Festival of Young Artists strives to present contemporary artistic creation in an authentic way, through the mass nature of popular culture. The festival brings together performers of various artistic expressions, connecting music, theater, film, performance and visual arts into a unique artistic experience. This year's festival will feature Portuguese DJ 'Deepneue', the band Goblini, fiddler Maksim Vojvodić, the band Nemeček, Jeak Reak DJ, and others as part of the music program, while a special musical spectacle 'The Stranger Within' will be performed by the Montenegrin Youth Orchestra," the statement reads.

"The second edition of the festival comes after the promotion we held at Dragstore in Belgrade in December, when we presented last year's program from Podgorica on three stages, concluding with the Montenegrin Youth Orchestra performing 'The Four Seasons' by Max Richter at 04am. The Belgrade promotion is significant for the festival, as well as for the artists who performed, due to the introduction to a wider regional audience, not only through the performance itself, but also within the framework of great interest and cooperation with leading media outlets in Serbia. Therefore, as a curiosity, this year we expect visitors from Belgrade who come to follow the artistic program in Podgorica," emphasized Igor Pejović, one of the festival organizers.

He added that regarding this year's edition, the performance of the band Goblini will be of great help to them on Saturday at 02am to present Montenegrin fiddle and epic song to the wider public, especially young people, as well as the talented Maksim Vojvodić.

"On Friday, a transgressive techno DJ, resident of Pornceptual, who distinguished himself on the European scene with his performance in the 'Boiler Room' production, will be coming to us from Portugal, and who will present the sound of contemporary European popular culture in a Berlin-style manner. The Montenegrin Youth Orchestra is responsible for the ceremonial opening of this year's Festival of Young Artists, which will perform a musical and theatrical spectacle by Croatian author Mirko Škarica on Friday, February 28 at 22 pm. I would especially like to draw attention to the complexity of this undertaking, which includes the participation of fifty artists, and which it would be a shame to miss. The festival doors are open, the repertoire is fresh and diverse, and we are looking forward to it and hope for a large number of visitors," said Pejović.

The statement says that in addition to musical performers, the audience will have the opportunity to watch the ballet miniature "Creature Feature" by Ivan Ćosić, a screening of short films produced by the Škart organization, the performance "Archives of Those Present" produced by Nemanja Mijović, Hana Rastoder and Ema Pavlović, and an artistic performance by the Belgrade-based "Association of the Young and Horny" by Teodora Arsić and Vanja Ivanović.

"As part of the art section that will be open during the festival, the following artists will be presented: Stefan Raičević, Tereza Živković, Luka Radoičić, Frano Kolović and Aleksa Šestović," said the organizers.

They say that the first Young Artists Festival, held in February 2024 in Podgorica, attracted around 2.500 visitors during the two-day program, while a repeat of the festival in Belgrade in December of the same year at the Dragstor club further confirmed its regional potential.

"This year's edition in Podgorica brings an even richer program and guarantees an authentic artistic experience," said a statement from the organizers of the Festival of Young Artists - FMU 2025.
