The Executive Director of the Airport of Montenegro (ACG), Roko Tolić, did not submit a report on income and assets within 30 days of taking office, which is why the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption has initiated proceedings against this public official, "Vijesti" was told by the institution headed by Dušan Drakić.

Tolić took up the position of executive director of ACG in May 2024, and according to the Law on the Prevention of Corruption, he was obliged to submit a report on his assets and income to the Agency within 30 days of taking up the position.

The Airport of Montenegro claims that this is an "oversight by professional services", but also that Tolić "was not informed that this was his obligation".

Tolić is the former director of Dubrovnik Airport, a position he held for nine years. He was also the deputy mayor of Dubrovnik.

ASK said that they have "initiated a fact-finding procedure, and will take appropriate measures to ensure compliance with legal obligations."

The Airport of Montenegro said that immediately after noticing the omission, they entered into communication with the Agency.

"We apologize to the public for this oversight. All data will be promptly submitted to the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and it will be clear from them that there have been no changes in Tolić's assets since he took office in the ACG. If Tolić is imposed a sanction, he, as a responsible person and public official, will act accordingly and pay the fine from his own funds. The regular annual report for the past year will be submitted within the legal deadline - by the end of March 2025," reads the response received by "Vijesti".

Prosecutorial Council member Borivoje Đukanović warned, but in vain

The Agency also responded to "Vijesti" that a member of the Prosecutorial Council, Borivoje Đukanović, had not submitted reports on income and assets since 2022. Therefore, as they said, on March 8, 2022, they filed a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for failure to submit reports upon assuming office.

"This procedure was concluded with a warning," the Agency specified.

After that, on May 10, 2023 and May 9, 2024, two new requests were filed to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for failure to submit regular annual reports for 2022 and 2023. These proceedings are ongoing, according to the Agency.

"The Agency will continue intensive controls of compliance with legal obligations of public officials, with a special focus on the timely submission of reports on income and assets, as well as the accuracy of data submitted in the reports," the Agency said.
