This year, the Tivat municipal utility will begin a partial change in the way municipal waste is collected and transported in that city.

Semi-underground garbage containers will be installed in several places in the city center, which are expected to have a positive aesthetic and environmental impact, and make the daily work of the teams cleaning the city easier. For the procurement and installation of the first 12 semi-underground containers with a capacity of five cubic meters, the public procurement plan of the Tivat Municipal Enterprise for this year has allocated a total amount of 162.000 euros including VAT.

Since the introduction of a semi-underground container system requires the possession of a special vehicle for emptying and removing garbage, which also has a hydraulic crane for lifting containers, the Municipal Corporation must acquire such a new special truck, for the purchase of which an amount of 350.000 euros has been allocated.

The campaign, which began two years ago, of gradually replacing classic containers with so-called press containers, which take up less space and are more favorable in terms of reducing the impact on the surrounding environment, will continue, so 18.000 euros will be spent on their purchase this year. 100 euros are intended for the purchase of 1,1 new classic EURO containers with a volume of 60.000 cubic meters, while Komunalno will also purchase another large transport so-called abroll container with a capacity of 32 cubic meters with a tarpaulin, worth 18.000 euros.

Abroll containers, which were introduced by Komunalno in Tivat three years ago, are used for cumulative transport to the Možura sanitary landfill near Bar, the contents of which are collected from the city by several smaller waste collection trucks, as well as for the transport of construction and oversized waste to the landfill of the company "Matej" in Cetinje.

In its work plan for 2025, the utility also planned to purchase a new dump truck with a grab for collecting green and oversized waste, for which the public procurement plan allocated an amount of 121.000 euros, and a new special vehicle, a mobile workshop, worth 80.000 euros.

The public procurement plan also includes the purchase of a new wood and hard plastic shredder, with an estimated value of 100.000 euros. The purchase of all this new equipment for the Utility Company will be financed largely by the Municipality of Tivat from its own budget.
