The Government of Montenegro today adopted a Decision on the establishment of a new public preschool educational institution (PSE) in Zeta, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) announced.
It is stated that the decision was made at the initiative of the Municipality of Zeta, and that the new JPU "Zvjezdani vrt" will replace the existing one, which, as a unit of the Podgorica JPU "Đina Vrbica", has been operating in that municipality until now.
"In this way, the preconditions are created for better work organization, relief of administration, resolving the issue of kindergarten overcrowding, as well as increasing the coverage of children with preschool education," the Ministry of Education and Science said in a statement.
It is added that this is also the goal of the Early and Preschool Education Strategy 2021-2025, as well as the Education Reform Strategy 2025-2035, which should be adopted by the end of the first quarter of the year.
The Ministry of Education and Science pointed out that the implementation of this Decision will lead to a reduction in costs for users of kindergarten services.
"The Municipality of Zeta has expressed its willingness to subsidize 50 percent of the total costs of accommodation and meals in kindergartens," the statement said.
The Ministry of Education and Science welcomed the decision of the Municipality of Zeta to help parents, and thus the education system, by working towards our common goal of providing the best possible conditions for our youngest children.
