The Trade Union of Administration (SSCG) and the Trade Union of Civil Servants and Employees (USSCG) have signed an agreement on joint action. The President of the Trade Union of Administration Ranko Božović said that this is a key step forward in protecting the rights of employees in public administration.

As he announced, the Committee for Determining Representativeness at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue approved their representativeness as a single trade union.

Božović says that after a thorough analysis and consideration of the submitted evidence on the number of members and the criteria for representativeness, the Board approved their request and that Minister Naida Nišić signed a decision formalizing the joint appearance of the two unions.

"This formalizes their united action, which will give around 4.000 members an even stronger union voice in the fight for their rights. This represents a significant step forward for workers in public administration, because unions will now, through a unified approach, advocate more strongly for the advancement of labor rights, improvement of the material status of employees, safer and fairer working conditions, as well as for greater influence in decision-making concerning their profession," the statement reads.

Božović said that they plan to soon begin new negotiations with the Government, with the aim of defining key priorities for improving the position of employees in public administration.

It is expected, he said, that the new trade union, through a stronger and more organized approach, will further strengthen social dialogue and enable more constructive solutions to the challenges faced by public sector employees.

"This step marks a new era of union organizing and shows that togetherness is the key to achieving long-term and sustainable improvements in the work environment. The Administration Union and the Union of Civil Servants and Employees say that they will continue to fight for the rights of all employees in public administration, without compromise when it comes to the dignity and economic security of workers," the statement reads.
