The winners of the 2024 Scientific Achievement Award have not been announced even two months after the end of the competition announced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) in November last year.

"The Commission for the Award of Awards for Scientific Achievements in 2024 has determined the list of winners, which will be published on the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation in a timely manner," the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation responded briefly.

The public call for awards for scientific achievements in the past year was published on the website of the Government of Montenegro on November 21st last year, and scientists could submit their works and innovations until December 11th last year.

According to the competition, awards for scientific achievements are given to the most successful scientist, a young scientist under 30 years of age, and an inventor or innovator. The right to the award, as stated in the competition, can be exercised by a Montenegrin citizen.

"A candidate for the award for the most successful scientist in Montenegro should have achieved exceptional results in scientific research work recognized in Montenegro and abroad in the calendar year in which the award is presented, by fulfilling at least two of the following criteria, namely coordination or participation in international programs and projects... To have a published monograph and published scientific papers in journals with an impact factor greater than zero, which are on the citation lists SCI (Science Citation Index), SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded), SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) or AHCI (Art and Humanities Citation Index). The amount of the award is 3.000 euros," the competition specifies.

According to the document, a candidate for the award for the most successful young scientist under 30 should have “achieved notable results in scientific research by publishing at least one scientific paper as the first author in journals with an impact factor greater than zero.” The amount of the award is 2.000 euros.

Candidates for the Inventor-Innovator Award for the most successful invention protected by a patent or the most successful innovation should achieve a notable result recognized in one of the innovative programs in Montenegro or abroad.
