The Eco-Fund supported the implementation of a project that removed unregulated waste dumps in Bar and improved the area, and key activities were carried out with the aim of protecting the environment and improving the quality of life of citizens.
The focus was on removing construction and other waste, as well as creating conditions for recreational facilities, such as rest areas and viewpoints.
"The total value of the project was 63.493,78 euros, of which the Eco-Fund subsidy amounted to 50 thousand euros," the Eco-Fund announced.
The project was implemented in two phases. The first phase included the removal of construction and municipal waste, which was disposed of at the sanitary landfill "Možura", where 830 tons of waste were deposited. Also, the terrain was prepared, overburden was filled and the soil was compacted at the designated positions.
The second phase included detailed landscaping of the area, including the installation of panoramic benches and tables, the construction of a gazebo, as well as the creation of a barbecue plateau and parking space in the immediate vicinity.
Additionally, 250 meters of public lighting with ten LED lights was installed. With the completion of this project, Bar will have a new recreational zone that will contribute to the preservation of natural values and provide a better space for residents and visitors to enjoy themselves.
"The subsidies awarded by the Eco-Fund enable local communities to implement projects that have a long-term positive impact on the quality of life of citizens and the preservation of natural resources. By financing initiatives like this, the Eco-Fund contributes to the creation of sustainable, environmentally friendly spaces, which not only improve the environment, but also encourage social and tourist activity. Such projects show how responsible resource management and investment in nature protection can bring concrete benefits to both local communities and the wider society," the statement said.
