Podgorica has received its first recycling machine for permanent use, installed as part of the Green Wave program in front of the NEST Coworking space, announced the Green Wave.

"This device, purchased thanks to funds from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, enables simple and efficient separation of packaging waste, thus providing citizens with the opportunity to actively contribute to environmental protection," the statement said.

The Green Wave says that the installation of the recycling machine symbolizes an important step towards strengthening environmental awareness in our community.

"We are very pleased with the response from citizens and hope that this example will encourage everyone in Montenegro to implement similar initiatives. Our team is available to expand such activities, in cooperation with municipalities, companies and institutions from Podgorica, as well as other cities. Our goal is to make recycling an everyday practice, accessible to everyone," says Jelena Rakčević, representing Zeleni Talas.

They invited citizens, organizations, and companies to separate plastic bottles and cans in their premises and bring them every day from 8 am to 20 pm in front of the NEST Coworking space in Podgorica.

"Before using the recycler, it is necessary to remove the caps from the plastic bottles and place them in a special bin next to the device. The packaging must be clean, empty, unpressed and in its original form. The packaging is inserted into the recycler from the bottom, which accepts plastic bottles with a volume of 0,5L to 2,5L, as well as cans. Upon completion, the 'Finish' button must be pressed," the statement explains.

"Detailed instructions are clearly displayed on the device, and Green Wave employees will be available for assistance and additional questions by phone at 069277199," it added.

They say they are continuing with plans to use recycling machines to further bring recycling closer to citizens and raise awareness of the importance of responsible waste management.

"All citizens are invited to get involved, use the recycling machine and contribute to the preservation of nature," the Green Wave statement said.
