Anđela Mićović, head of the Europe Now Movement parliamentary group in the Capital City Assembly, says that the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) only remembered pensioners when they lost power.
She reacted after DPS councilor Stefan Ćulafić announced that the agenda for the February 25 session would include two decisions proposed by the party's councilor club: free public transportation for pensioners and vulnerable categories; and subsidized water prices for the most vulnerable citizens of Podgorica.
She indicated that pensioners in Podgorica will have free public transportation in the future.
"For decades, you have kept citizens on the brink of poverty, denying them basic rights, and now you are acting as protectors of those you have neglected. Unfortunately for you, Podgorica is today led by a man who does not need your plagiarized initiatives to improve the lives of citizens - that is why pensioners have free transportation. It hurts you even more that Montenegro is governed by a prime minister with the greatest trust of citizens and that today Montenegrin pensions are the highest in the region. Results distinguish us. Continue to be inspired by our successes - we will continue to do what you never wanted or knew how to do," writes councilor Mićović in her response.
