At the winter Kotor Carnival, the "guilty of everything" was traditionally burned, and this year it was Andronik Durak, aka Voštan, a doll with the image of Andrija Mandić.
The indictment, which was published in the newspaper "Karampana", states that he is guilty of "making the people so confused that local government cannot be formed in several municipalities, so that in the entire country it is not known who drinks or who pays."
The accused is also guilty of:
- That he has established control of the executive branch and the government itself in depth and breadth, so that instead of controlling the executive branch, he can manipulate it however he pleases.
- That he accelerated our path to the EU so much that they wouldn't even let him into the hallway in Brussels.
- That he has brought us so close to neighboring countries, that in one he is persona non grata, in another he values only one entity, while in a third he would withdraw state recognition.
- That he has turned the Assembly into a personal service. - That he is not returning the status of a city to the Imperial and Royal City of Kotor, but is treating us with shame and disgrace as a populated place.
- That he wants to declare shank a national specialty.
- That he did not support the students' justified demands regarding security.
- That as an opposition member he was a fighter for decentralization, and now he is a centralist.
The defense, the newspaper "Karampana" reported, stated that the defendant was not guilty of any count of the indictment.
"The least he is guilty of is that upon coming to power he found a divided people and enormous privileges for only one parliamentary party and their satellites, as if no one but them needed to eat."
He made a statement:
- I have tried and am constantly trying in the spirit of a saint of a sister church and my namesake to reduce tensions and reconcile the people of Medjutin, I did not bully anyone, unlike the current opposition. I inherited that position. It is not my fault that the current opposition is not bullied by the loss of power, and you have blatant examples in your Kotor, Šavnik and until recently in Budva.
- When the parade commander changes, which is exactly the case, the rules of the game change, and my task is to control it and not allow it to be served by anyone but all of us.
- My path towards the EU cannot be the same as that of my predecessors; unlike them, I have not learned to wait in the corridors and serve them without question.
- I am fighting for my world, which is fundamentally different from the world in neighboring countries. Since I served time for my world in the justice of God and was convicted in a rigged trial, I guess I have the right to consistency.
- I am trying to make the Assembly a service to all of you, and I am conciliatory because, unlike the current opposition, I know much better what it means to stand up to a dictatorial regime, and for which I have paid well for 30 years, all while fighting for my world or the world.
- I am the least to blame for you losing the City Statute, but thank the current opposition for doing that so that the Warehousewoman could sit in a chair that never belonged to her and which turned your municipality into a service for the first family.
- My personal menu is my problem, and my desire is to elevate the shank to the level of Njeguš prosciutto or cheese.
- Since I came to my current position thanks to the litias and litia members, I will always support any justified protest, but despite all the power I have, I cannot influence the personnel policy of the government and the services I control.
- I must remind you that since the centralization of coastal management, many members and sympathizers of the current opposition have become millionaires, so coastal municipalities must fight for changes to the Law on Maritime Property. I am at your service.
The verdict states that the defendant Androniko Durak, alias Voštan, is guilty on all counts of the indictment, without the right to appeal, and is sentenced to death by burning at Maceo. The verdict is to be carried out within the time limit now and immediately.
After the trial and burning of the culprit for all the bad things that happened last year, the festivities continue on the Arms Square with performances by the Toć Ensemble and Indira Force.
The carnival is organized by the Public Institution Cultural Center "Nikola Đurković", co-organized by the Kotor Tourist Organization, and sponsored by the Municipality of Kotor.
