With the decision to co-finance the work of sports organizations for this year, the Municipality of Kolašin distributed 80.000 euros to 16 sports teams.
The most money, 9.830 euros, went to the Volleyball Club (OK) Gorštak. The football and futsal clubs of the same name received 7.292 and 6.925 euros, respectively. The Basketball Club (KK) Gorštak will receive support from the municipal budget of around 6.770 euros this year, and the Basketball Club Kolašin a little over 6.000 euros. The work of the Karate Club (KK) Gorštak will also be co-financed with approximately the same amount. The Basketball Club Tara Basket can count on around 5.700 euros from the local budget, and the Table Tennis Club on 4.340 euros.
According to the decision, the Shooting Club (SK), Auto-Moto Sports Club (AMSK) Gorštak, Sports Fishing Club (SRK) Kolašin, Sports Chess Club (SŠK) An Pasan, Sports Fly Fishing Club (SRFFK) Maniro, Cycling Club (BK) Star Bike and SRK Gorštak received co-financing of between 4.100 and 2.128 euros.
As several sports organizations recently stated in the context of working on the draft Strategy for the Development of Sports in Kolašin, the local government should pay more attention to this area in the future. The Kolašin sports collectives reminded that “the budget relationship towards an area is a valid indicator of how the community understands or does not understand it.” They explain that out of over 10 million euros in this year’s municipal budget, less than one percent was allocated for sports, which is not the case in other municipalities.
Some clubs said that the allocations for co-financing sports organizations should be doubled, and one of the goals is to make sports and recreation available to as many people as possible from Kolašin, as well as to improve the care of top athletes and create coaching potential.
Of the 80.000 euros this year, 30 percent of that amount was distributed to eligible sports organizations. The remaining portion was divided so that 60 percent went to team sports and the rest to individual sports, by evaluating the work program based on the criteria from the Regulation on Detailed Criteria for Co-financing of Sports Organizations.
