At the “Bolje Sestre” spring, work has begun on the construction of a filter plant, which will ensure absolute security in the water supply of the Montenegrin coast during the next tourist season. This was announced by the Regional Water Supply Company.
The construction of the filter plant will provide an additional 100 l/s of water for the Montenegrin coast. This will significantly improve water supply in the upcoming tourist season, especially during August, when water consumption is highest.
Activities are underway to prepare the hall, which includes work on preparing the base for the installation of the filter plant. These activities represent the first step towards the finalization of this project.
Water preparation will consist of several processing segments, based on findings from previous years and field parameter measurements. The quality of the produced water will correspond to the quality prescribed by the Regulation on parameters, compliance verification, methods, manner, scope of analysis and implementation of monitoring of the health safety of water for human consumption", the state-owned company emphasizes. "The start of work on this project represents a major step forward in resolving long-standing water supply problems on the Montenegrin coast. We are making great efforts to ensure that all citizens in this area have a regular water supply, which would not be possible without the regional water supply system. The construction of a filter plant at the 'Bolje Sestre' spring will increase the amount of water in the distribution system during the period when it is most needed", emphasized the Director of the Regional Water Supply, Krsto Radović.
As it is added, in order to solve the problem of water supply on the Montenegrin coast in the long term, the Regional Water Supply Company will this year launch activities on the implementation of the project to build another plant, with an additional capacity of 500 l/s. "As envisaged in the Company's annual work plan for 2025, the construction of the plant will take place in two phases with a capacity of 250 l/s each. By investing in infrastructure, the Regional Water Supply Company not only provides reliable water supply, but also actively contributes to the development of tourism, strengthening the tourism economy and improving the quality of life of the citizens of Montenegro," the statement concludes.
