The President of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly, Jovana Tošić, and the city's mayor, Dario Vraneš, spent the past few days on a study visit to Romania, to exchange knowledge and experiences regarding the latest innovations in the field of smart cities.
The office of the Speaker of the Parliament announced that during the visit they visited Bucharest, Trgovište and Craiova and met with the mayors and representatives of those cities.
A conference was held at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, where Tošić and Vraneš spoke on the topic of the influence of the municipality on legislative processes, improving and strengthening cooperation between the local community and central authorities, decentralization, strengthening and improving the autonomy of local governments to encourage sustainable development, improving e-government and digitalization strategies.
Representatives of the municipality of Pljevlja also had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of Montenegro's accession to the European Union, the efficient use of EU grants, and a just transition was also discussed.
The study visit to Romania was organized by the Union of Municipalities of Montenegro in cooperation with the Embassy of Montenegro in Romania.
