The Constitutional Court has begun publishing monthly summaries of the most relevant decisions. They say the goal is, among other things, to bring key aspects of the court's decisions closer to the wider professional and lay public.

"Starting from the fact that the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, as a sui generis court and located at the crossroads of the system of separation of powers, strives for a high level of readiness to achieve results for the rule of law on our path towards the EU, we inform the public that in order to strengthen the transparency of work, the implementation of the preparation of summaries of the most relevant decisions has begun with the aim, among other things, of bringing key aspects of the court's decisions closer to the wider professional and lay public," the statement reads.

The first such summary, they said, includes the most relevant recent decisions of the Constitutional Court.

"We appreciate that maintaining public trust in the work of the Constitutional Court and preserving its independence in relation to the powers of other branches of government is an important aspect of respecting the basic principles of the rule of law. Speed and efficiency, transparency and consistency in action continue to be imperatives in the work of the Constitutional Court," the institution said.
