The Ministry of Defense (MOD), with the support of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro (VCG), is ready to support the development of new products and their possible integration into the equipment of the Montenegrin Army, in order to strengthen the capacities of the domestic defense industry, the government department announced.

The MOD said that during the visit, representatives of the Ministry and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro were introduced to the current and future projects of the company "Tara Aerospace", as well as plans regarding the adoption of new products.

"The visit to Tara Aerospace represents an important step in strengthening cooperation between state institutions and the domestic defense industry," the statement said.

It is stated that during the visit, Krapović had the opportunity to get acquainted with the production capacities of the company, whose primary activity includes the production of components for mortars, as well as a wide range of other products from the field of specialized industry (TARA 9x19 millimeter pistols, pyrotechnic components - decoys and other products).

"In order to strengthen the capacities of domestic industry, the Ministry of Defense, with the support of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro, has expressed its readiness to support the development of new products as well as their possible integration into the equipment of the Armed Forces of Montenegro," the statement said.

Krapović, as announced, also visited the production capacities of the company "Poliex" Berane.

"During the visit, long-standing cooperation was highlighted, especially in terms of resolving surplus ammunition (poor quality and reduced gunpowder stability) through the delaboration process," the statement said.

It is emphasized that cooperation was reflected in a number of projects such as the MONDEM program, the NATO Trust Fund, the ITF program, and resolution organized by MOD.

On that occasion, Krapović was introduced to all the plants where ordnance was delaborated, plants where commercial explosives (Beranit, Amonex, Beranex, ANFO and others) and military explosives (PEP-500 and Termobarik) were produced.

"This company also owns modern facilities in which an ammonium perchlorate production line has been installed, and the company itself is characterized by infrastructure characteristic of the production of dedicated products," the statement said.

As it is added, the company's management informed the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff about current and future projects.

The management emphasized that dedicated work has resulted in good product placement on the foreign market, and therefore good business performance of the company.

Krapović said that the MOD's intention is to provide support in strengthening the production capacities of companies engaged in the defense industry.
