Today, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the "Eco Heroines" campaign was presented at the European House, dedicated to Montenegrin female entrepreneurs and activists who are shaping a sustainable future with their ecological businesses and projects.

Five women – Mia Pejović (Atelje "Propuh"), Jelena Rakčević (NGO Zeleni talas), Milena Đukanović (Miđu Accessoires), Nada Tadić (Duga Toys) and Milena Živković (Mental Ecology) – shared their experiences with Selda Jahjagić from the Young European Ambassadors.

Through the conversation, they talked about how they transformed their green ideas into sustainable initiatives, but also about the challenges they face along the way in Montenegrin society.

Mia Pejović presented "eco-graphics" - an artistic blend of craftsmanship and ecology, through the production of organic paper and natural paints that celebrate the cultural heritage and biodiversity of Montenegro.

"Nature does not produce surplus - that is the principle I follow in my work," Mia pointed out.

Jelena Rakčević from the NGO Zeleni talas emphasized that recycling is not just a necessity, but a way of life. She praised the cooperation with the EU through projects such as "Green Ambassadors" and "Digital Guide for Creating Green Initiatives", which contribute to raising awareness about sustainability.

Milena Đukanović has combined science, design, and ecology through 3D printing jewelry, using recycled materials to promote the country's cultural and natural heritage.

Nada Tadić, a passionate hiker and founder of Duga Toys, highlights handmade toys from natural materials as her contribution to environmental preservation.

Milena Živković combines art and sustainability through "Mental Ecology", believing that art is a game that recycles an imperfect image of the world.

"We are all invited to participate," said Milena.

Eco-heroines are unique in their mission - through green initiatives they promote environmental protection, nature, culture and history of Montenegro, but also point to the need for continuous engagement at the individual and systemic level.
