The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned, "in order to act promptly and efficiently on the announcement of extreme meteorological phenomena in the territory of Montenegro", that changeable and unstable weather is expected until the end of the week, with frequent occurrences of rain and heavy rainfall accompanied by increased and strong southern and southeastern winds.
As they say, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in the first two to three days, in the southwestern, western and central regions, especially in the wider area of Boka Kotorska and Cetinje, where 150 to 250 liters per square meter may fall.
"There will be significantly less precipitation in the far southeast and east of the country. Significantly less rain is expected on Thursday during the day and on Friday. This period will be marked by moderate to strong southerly winds, with gusts in some places on Tuesday and Friday," the statement reads.
They said that the Ministry of Interior's Protection and Rescue Directorate sent the aforementioned warning to all participants in the protection and rescue system and pointed out the need to increase operational readiness and to remain in constant contact with all relevant services in order to adequately respond to any possible consequences of weather disasters.
They appeal to citizens to follow official announcements and recommended protective measures.
