One of the rapid intervention patrol boats of the Navy of the Army of Montenegro rescued two people who were lost at sea near the mouth of the Bojana River this evening.
This was confirmed by "News" from the Ministry of Defense.
A helicopter from the Army of Montenegro also participated in the search for the two missing people, and the operation was launched in the evening when information arrived via the Maritime Operations Center in Bar that two men were in the sea a few miles from Ada Bojana.
According to unofficial information, the victims are a famous Croatian athlete and skier, Ivica Kostelić, and a French citizen, who were kayaking.
Their kayaks were capsized by a strong southerly wind and waves over three meters high, and they were found thanks to the efforts of rescuers from the Montenegrin maritime search and rescue system, which consists of civilian institutions and the military.
Thus, Kostelić and the Frenchman were found and rescued in rough seas by the crew of one of the new fast rescue boats of the Navy of the Montenegrin Armed Forces.
As "Vijesti" has learned, the two rescued men are fine, but as a precaution they were handed over to the ambulance team that was waiting for them in the Port of Bar, where the patrol boat arrived at around 22.45:XNUMX p.m.
