The construction of the State Data Center and Disaster Recovery Center represents the foundation of a modern digital infrastructure, which will enable more efficient, secure and economical functioning of public administration, said Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj.
The Ministry of Public Administration (MPA) announced that a presentation of the feasibility study for the State Data Center and the State Disaster Recovery Center, which was developed within the project "Support to the Digital Transformation of Montenegro", was held today.
Dukaj emphasized that digitalization is a key strategic priority of the Government, with which they want to build an efficient, open and transparent public administration, ready for the challenges of the digital age.
"I am proud to present today the Feasibility Study for the State Data Center and the State Disaster Recovery Center, which was developed within the project "Support to the Digital Transformation of Montenegro", stated Dukaj.
This project, as he reminded, was implemented by the MPA together with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
According to Dukaj, the implementation of this project achieves the goals defined by the strategies of digital transformation, public administration reform and cybersecurity, which clearly express the vision of a digitally developed society.
"The construction of the State Data Center and Disaster Recovery Center represents the foundation of modern digital infrastructure, which will enable more efficient, secure and economical functioning of public administration," said Dukaj.
He added that this project, as part of their commitment to digital transformation, also demonstrates Montenegro's clear intention to be a responsible member of the international community, especially in cybersecurity within NATO.
"Special thanks to UNOPS for its continued support and to KPMG for the professional and high-quality preparation of the feasibility study, which set clear guidelines for the implementation of this strategic project," said Dukaj.
UNOPS Program Manager, Marko Vujačić, emphasized that he was pleased to be part of the project to develop the State Data Center of Montenegro, which is at the center of efforts to accelerate the digital transformation of the country, in cooperation with the MPA.
He said that for UNOPS, as a UN agency specialized in project implementation, the issue of sustainability is of key importance.
"In this sense, both during the preparation of the Feasibility Study and in the further development of the project that will ensure secure and sustainable storage of institutional data, it is necessary to consider aspects of sustainability, from the use of renewable energy sources to the optimal investment model and institutional resilience," said Vujačić.
