The Nature Park (PP) "Piva" awarded the ethno village "Izlazak" from Rudinice for the highest number of registered overnight stays in the municipality of Plužine in 2024 - a total of 1.566 overnight stays. As they announced, in 2024, 25 accommodation providers, out of a total of 75 users of the application for registration of residence, registered 73 percent of all overnight stays in the municipality of Plužine.

"We thank all responsible accommodation providers who have duly registered their guests and thus contributed to a record tourist season, the development of the municipality and the economic strengthening of the country. Proper registration of residence enables greater investments in infrastructure, the promotion of tourism and the protection of natural resources, and is also a legal obligation that affects the safety of visitors and better management of tourism capacities," PP "Piva" announced.

As stated in the press release, the Piva Nature Park is actively working to resolve this issue within its jurisdiction.

"We appeal to all unregistered landlords, as well as those who do not record their guests, to respect legal regulations and operate responsibly. We expect better support from the Police Directorate, the Municipal Police and the inspection service in the upcoming season to ensure compliance with the rules and fair market conditions for all accommodation providers. For the next tourist season, we are planning a campaign aimed at foreign citizens staying in Montenegro, with the aim of informing them about the legal consequences if their stay is not registered by landlords," the press release stated.

Details of the campaign, as they pointed out, will be published in cooperation with the Police Directorate, and accommodation providers who have proven to be the most responsible will always be highlighted as their recommendation for tourists, with the aim of developing quality and sustainable tourism in the municipality of Plužine.

Last year, as previously announced, was a record-breaking year when it comes to the summer tourist season.

"During 2024, 10.179 tourists were registered who spent 16.940 nights in the territory of the municipality of Plužine, coming from six continents and from as many as 79 different countries of the world. When it comes to Europe, tourists came from 44 out of 50 European countries, while overnight stays were not registered only from Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican," the Piva Nature Park announced earlier.

As they stated, Europeans made up 88 percent of all guests, of which 24 percent were from the countries of the former Yugoslavia.
