Media NGOs have nominated a long-time journalist, editor and media analyst to the Administrative Board The jewel of Duško Vuković for a member of the Council of the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (SAMU), "Vijesti" learns.
According to the same information, the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts has proposed academician as a member of SAMU. Niko Martinović.
Vuković was nominated for the position, according to sources at "Vijesti", by 14 NGOs that have been active in the media field for more than three years and have implemented activities in the media field, which are also legal requirements. According to the Law on Audiovisual Media Services, SAMU has five members, including representatives of universities, media and human rights organizations, CANU and the Bar Association.
SAMU currently has a president and two members. The president is a representative of the university. Branko Bosković, and the members Edin Koljenovic - a representative of NGOs dealing with the protection of human rights and freedoms and Andrijana Nikolić, which represents the interests of the association of commercial broadcasters. Their mandate expires in the middle of next year.
According to the Law, SAMU elects and dismisses the director, but also adopts the Agency's acts, submits reports to the European Commission. It is competent and gives consent to the radio frequency allocation plans adopted by the regulatory authority responsible for electronic communications, and makes decisions on the allocation of broadcasting rights.

The Media Center announced at the time that he did this because the parties in power realized that the "majority candidate" would not pass.
