The overhaul of two vessels of the Navy of the Army of Montenegro, the patrol ship P-42 "Durmitor" and the offshore tugboat PR-105 "Orada", was successfully completed at the "Adriatic 41" shipyard in Bijela.
"The vessels have completed test runs and are now in the port of Bar," the Ministry of Defense announced today.
As they stated, damaged segments of the ship's hull were replaced on the patrol ship P-105 "Durmitor", underwater valves were replaced and repaired, shaft line and rudder bearings were replaced, the ship was painted and other dock work was carried out.
On the offshore tug PR-41 "Orada", work was carried out on sandblasting the ship, on the shaft lines and steering gear, replacing the shell steel, painting the shell, main, signal and bridge decks, cleaning the fuel and drinking water tanks, and renovating the sanitary facilities.
"The overhaul significantly improved the operational capability and longevity of the ships of the Navy of the Army of Montenegro, thus ensuring their efficiency in carrying out future tasks," the Ministry of Defense announced.
Incidentally, in Bar, the installation of new steel cables in the rigging of the Navy of the Republic of Montenegro training ship, the sailing ship "Jadran", has recently begun, as well as the refitting of the recently made new wooden rigging elements to the masts of that ship. According to unofficial information from "Vijesti", "Jadran" should soon receive a set of completely new 12 sails that will replace the current and already quite worn-out sails.
