Mayor of Kolasin Petko Bakić The order obliged all business entities and citizens to implement preventive and safety measures for fire protection in an organized and continuous manner, especially in locations and facilities where there is a high risk of fire outbreaks.
The order is valid from April to the end of October, it says, when the chances of fires breaking out are greatest, as well as due to the greatly increased number of guests during that period.
Citizens are prohibited from lighting fires outdoors, especially near forest complexes, electricity distribution facilities, public buildings... It is also prohibited to clear property by burning without prior notification and agreement with the Protection Service, and companies and institutions are obliged to inspect existing fire-fighting equipment and provide the missing equipment.
The Forestry Administration is obliged to organize the cleaning and removal of felled trees and waste branches in forest complexes, as well as to maintain forest roads for free access and unhindered movement of fire trucks. They are also tasked with carrying out forest and second-level control in the concessionaire's departments and drawing up operational maps for each forest complex and usable forest road in the municipality. They should also put up warning signs and prohibit open fires in forest complexes, but also submit a forest fire protection plan for the upcoming fire season.
Bakić obliged that grass and flammable materials in the main road zone be regularly mowed and removed, and in rural areas, local village and forest roads be cleaned, as well as vegetation trimmed, in order to ensure the unhindered passage of fire trucks.
The local utility company should, according to the order, by May 1, in cooperation with the management bodies and building tenants, provide an efficient way of removing waste from common areas. The company was also tasked with mowing the grass and removing flammable materials at Barutana, Dulovine, Bašanje Brdo and the city's green areas. The utility company should also increase the safety and protection of the city landfill from fires.
The Water Supply and Sewerage Company, in cooperation with the management bodies and building tenants, should also bring fire hydrants into proper condition by the beginning of May, and visibly mark existing hydrants in the city and eliminate any defects on them.
Bakić, through his order, obliged the Local Protection and Rescue Service, among other things, to raise the level of operational readiness and fill the position of local protection and rescue inspector, if approval is obtained from the Ministry of Finance.
